Meet Jennie

There was this boy I met in 1985.

We were just teens in Alaska, young and high school rivals, with cassette tapes in our Walkmans and big dreams in our heads. We dated, we graduated, we wrote letters, we kept in touch.

But like so many young love stories, life pulled us in different directions. Through no fault of our own, we lost touch.

Then, three decades later, we reconnected—with the same old friends who set us up back in the day. And when Bryan and I saw each other again, it was like no time had passed at all. That sweet, innocent love we once shared? It was still there. Stronger. Deeper. Real.

On September 7, 2022, I married the boy who once made me laugh in the high school hallways. And now I get to tell stories—my own and others’—about love that comes back around.

Because sometimes, the best love stories begin with a second chance.

Most Nostalgic Item: Silver hoop earrings purchased at “Jay Jacobs” to wear to a H.S. dance with Bryan, Hot pink Esprit book bag, Duran Duran posters, Wasilla Hockey Tee Shirt, Bryan’s class ring and letterman jacket (that only took 30 years to make mine!)
